Hospital Trends enables you to reach medical and administrative professionals in hospitals. Hospitals are health care institutions providing patient treatment by specialized staff and equipment, and often, but not always providing for longer-term patient stays. These hospitals are usually funded by the public sector, by for profit or nonprofit health organizations, health insurance companies or charities including by direct charitable donations. Some patients go to a hospital for diagnosis, treatment, or therapy on an outpatient basis, while others stay and become inpatients.
The best-known type of hospital is the general hospital, which is set up to deal with many kinds of disease and injury, and normally has an emergency department to deal with immediate and urgent threats to health. Larger cities may have several hospitals of varying sizes and facilities. Hospitals vary widely in the services they offer. They may have acute services such as specialist trauma centre, burn unit, surgery, or urgent care. These may then be backed up by more specialist units such as cardiology or coronary care unit, intensive care unit, neurology, cancer center, and obstetrics and gynecology. Some hospitals will have outpatient department and some will have chronic treatment units such as behavioral health services, dentistry, dermatology, psychiatric ward, rehabilitation services, and physical therapy.
Common support units include a pharmacy, pathology, and radiology, and on the non-medical side, there are often medical records departments, release of information departments, facilities management, maintenance, dining services, and security departments.
The institutions daily activities vary greatly based on bed size, number of patients they care for and whether the institution is a long term acute care, physical rehabilitation, psychiatric, children’s, or general medical/surgical hospital. These hospital personnel rely on new technology enhancements, continuing education programs, learning new managerial skills and techniques, attending trade shows, and reading medical and business journals to stay current in their field.
This target is made up of professional, well-educated, driven, ambitious and accomplished individuals. These decisionmakers typically have a masters or doctorate degree from a prestigious university.
