DESCRIPTION
Clinical Nursing Science Society enables you to reach professional advanced practice registered nurses who are clinical nurse specialists at their practice address. CNS’s are expert clinicians, who are critical components in delivering high quality healthcare. A CNS is a Master’s prepared nurse who has transitioned or is in the process of transitioning from the role of RN. As part of the leadership team, the CNS with extensive RN experience will work alongside nurses at the bedside to teach and identify process concerns and educational needs, as well as maintain their own skills.
Clinical nursing medical executives implement organizational changes that empower nurses to develop caring, evidence-based practices to alleviate patient distress, facilitate ethical decision-making, and respond to diversity. The CNS is responsible and accountable for diagnosis and treatment of health/illness states, disease management, health promotion, and prevention of illness and risk behaviors among individuals, families, groups, and communities. CNP’s are typically employed by hospitals, critical care, emergency room, long term care facilities.
In addition to their role of educator, the CNS is responsible for leadership development, research, consulting for other services and institutions, and, of course, clinical practice. They need to effectively balance the need for influence with the nurses to be able to train them successfully in the specific procedures of the unit while meeting the goals of management and leadership. Clinical Nurse Specialists typically report the director of the unit, the director of advance practice nurses, or the director of education within the organization.
These clinicians are experts in evidence-based nursing and practice in a range of specialty areas, such as oncology, pediatrics, geriatrics, psychiatric/mental health, adult health, acute/critical care, and community health among others. In addition to direct patient care, CNSs also engage in teaching, mentoring, consulting, research, management and systems improvement.
These medical professionals are required to attend continuing education classes to maintain their certification, depending on where they practice. Many also belong to professional organizations to maintain professional credentials. These seasoned professionals embrace their jobs with diversity, equity, and work/life balance. They look to editorials to help them achieve a deeper knowledge in their field. Also by using career advancement resources such as online continuing education or certificate programs, social networking sites to make personal and professional connections, attending trade shows, and networking at industry events, these professionals achieve a better understanding of their field.
This list is ideal for any nursing or health continuing education courses, medical supplies, business publications, uniform catalogs, insurance, and credit card offers.
