DESCRIPTION

Pediatric Directors from Hospital Trends targets medical professionals who oversee the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents.  They direct the staff and programs of the pediatric department, creating budgets and maintaining expenditures. 

These executives develop and implement policies and procedures for pediatric services and programs, ensuring top quality care for patients.  Quality of care audits are performed as outlined by hospital policy.  They must be familiar with a variety of pediatric concepts, practices, and procedures as they oversee all aspects of children’s health.  Pediatric executives support the mission, vision, and values of the hospital.  The decisnionmakers must be organized and detail oriented to manage staff and vendors.

These administrators are employed by hospitals that are local, state, federal, church, military or corporately owned. The manager’s daily activities vary greatly based on bed size, number of patients they care for and whether the institution is a long term acute care, physical rehabilitation, psychiatric, children’s, or general medical/surgical hospital. These directors rely on new technology enhancements, continuing education programs, learning new managerial skills and techniques, attending trade shows, and reading medical and business journals to stay current in pediatrics.

This target is made up of professional, intelligent, well-educated, driven, ambitious, and accomplished individuals.  These medical professionals have a doctorate degree.  They tend to be older and have extensive and impressive work experience.  Most belong to community and professional organizations, and they are leaders, volunteers and role-models in the community.  The have a love for kids.  They do a considerable amount of business travel to medical conventions, conferences, and meetings.
