Foundation of Obstetrics and Gynecology targets specially trained physicians, MD’s, who treat, research, and diagnose disorders of female reproductive system. An obstetrician/gynecologist is a physician specialist who provides medical and surgical care to women and has particular expertise in pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system. This includes preventative care, prenatal care, detection of sexually transmitted diseases, Pap test screening, and family planning.

OBGYN’s may specialize in a particular area such as: adolescent gynecology, gynecological oncology, reproductive endocrinology – infertility, Perinatalogy – high risk pregnancy, operative gynecology, or urogynecology.

Obstetrics and Gynecology professionals may work in a group with other physicians or as a sole practitioner. They may work as part of a group of physicians of multi-specialty medical groups.
