DESCRIPTION

Executive Directory of Bookkeepers allows you to target individuals that work as a bookkeeper for a company, corporation, organization or firm. A bookkeeper, also known as an accounting clerk or accounting technician, is a person who records the day-to-day financial transactions of an organization. Some bookkeepers write employee checks, track payroll, make bank deposits, keep up to date tax information and handle employee W-2 forms.

Bookkeepers are responsible for ensuring all transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger. A daybook is a descriptive and chronological record of day-to-day financial transactions also called “book of original entry”. Daybooks must be entered formally into journals to enable posting to ledgers. Daybooks include sales daybook, for recording all the sales invoices; sales credits daybook, for recording all the sales credit notes; purchases daybook, for recording all the purchase invoices; purchase credits daybook, for recording all the purchased credit notes; cash daybook, for recording all money received as well as money paid out.

Computerized bookkeeping removes many of the paper "books" that are used to record transactions. Online bookkeeping, or remote bookkeeping, allows source documents and data to reside in web-based applications which allow remote access for bookkeepers and accountants. All entries made into the online software are recorded and stored in a remote location. The online software can be accessed from any location in the world and permit the bookkeeper or data entry person to work from any location with a suitable data communications link.

Bookkeepers purchase adding machines, binders, book cases, bookkeeping ledgers, business software, calculators, calendars, cash receipts, cell phones, computer paper, computers, copy machines, credit card machines, desk organizers, dictionaries, envelopes, erasers, file boxes, filing cabinets, financial software, fingertip moisteners, hanging folders, highlighters, hole punchers, ink cartridges, manila folders, mouse pads, note pads, paper clips, paper shredders, payroll books, pencils, pens, petty cash boxes, photo link scanners, printers, receipt slips, rubber bands, rulers, stamps, staplers, staples, sticky notes, tax forms, and wastebaskets.
